  • The preferred candidate for the CVA paraeducator position will have experience working with K-8 students and their families, and assisting with the delivery of instruction in Special Services in an online alternative learning experience (ALE) environment. This position begins immediately, involves seven (7) hour workdays, and is based at the CVA offices on the Valley School District campus. Candidates must meet state and district core qualifications for paraeducators in Special Education. Duties/qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Prepare and provide instructional materials and curriculum in accordance with the students’ IEP and plans developed by the Special Education teachers.
    • Report attendance and progress to parents/guardians and the general education teacher.
    • Collect student performance data toward meeting IEP goals through assessments.
    • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
    • Ability to learn and apply all CVA computer applications and operating systems to create efficiency and consistency in internal workflows.
    • Ability to use and teach educational programs such as Microsoft Office applications, email, videoconferencing, file management and web-related technologies. 
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally, and foster an environment conducive to open, transparent ideas and perspectives.

  • This year-round district position is responsible for keeping the school building, facilities and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Duties will include cleaning classrooms, gymnasium, cafeteria, hallways, stairs and office areas, plus various other responsibilities:

    • Unlocking/locking doors, and ensuring building security; reporting unauthorized occupants
    • Removing trash; disinfecting surfaces and replacing products
    • Operating custodial equipment, including carpet extractors and hard floor machines
    • Assisting with clearing and maintaining walkways (snow removal); raking, and weeding
    • Coordinating department activities with teachers and administration members, plus setting up and moving furniture for special events
    • Identifying and reporting problems to the supervisor
    • Using a ladder; lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
    • Unloading and distributing received materials and supplies

  • This position at Valley School works under the supervision of the K-8 principal and guidance of the classroom teacher, serving both the Basic Education and Special Services programs. This position involves 7.5 hour workdays and begins immediately, lasting through the end of the school year in June. 

    Duties and responsibilities include:

    • Works one on one and in small groups with students, plus large group duties.
    • Classroom support: guides and maintains positive student behavior.  
    • Establishes and maintains a cooperative working relationship with students, parents and colleagues, demonstrating sensitivity and respect. 
    • Participates in Special Education services, in-service and professional development activities.
    • Additional duties as assigned, which may include student care under the direction of the district nurse and assistance with medications, transportation, and lifting 50 lbs. or more.

  • Columbia Virtual Academy has an open secretarial position in the Instructional Resource Center (IRC). This full-time, year-round position starts immediately and works daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., under the supervision of the CVA Support Services Manager.

    Duties include shipping, receiving, and managing instructional resources. The applicant should be familiar with standard office procedures and demonstrate proficiency in technology and various computer programs such as Microsoft software and typical office equipment in order to perform job responsibilities efficiently and accurately. 

    Other key qualifications include courteous communication skills for working with the public, businesses, clients and co-workers; confidentiality; ability to stand for up to eight (8) hours daily, and lift 40 lbs. frequently.

  • Position open for the 2026 season (approx. Jan. 21 – Feb. 20) working under the supervision of the school Athletic Director and head coach. The assistant coach is expected to attend and assist the head coach during all practices and games (home and away), ride the team bus when applicable, and help maintain student behavior. Other duties may be assigned.

    Minimum qualifications include:

    • Previous knowledge/experience coaching or assistant coaching of team sports with ability to motivate and/or guide positive player behavior. 
    • General knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, techniques and safety concerns.
    • Organizational skills, adaptability, and positive attitude and work ethic.
    • Current First Aid Card and training on WIAA concussion protocol.
    • Successful completion of WIAA coaching requirements.

  • This position at Valley Early Learning Center will support the Lead Toddler Teacher in creating a nurturing and educational environment for children aged 12-30 months. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, dedicated with a strong understanding of child development and ability to foster positive relationships with both children and families.

    Duties and responsibilities include:

    • Classroom support: planning, coordinating, and implementing daily routines, learning activities, and guiding child behavior
    • Helping create a safe and nurturing environment to foster child development and well-being
    • Assisting with developmental screenings and data collection for state compliance and assessment
    • Collaborating and communicating well with the director, team leader(s), and parents
       

    Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

    • Completion of 30-Hour Basic STARS training
    • Current CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen certifications
    • Valid driver’s license; Food Handler’s permit
    • State and federal background check clearance
    • Physical abilities – lifting, standing, bending, stooping, etc.

  • The Substitute Fuel Truck Driver will operate a 4400 gallon fuel truck; perform operator and maintenance checks on the fuel truck and other fuel operating equipment, and fill and transport fuel to VL Transport Center Cooperative member sites. Essential duties include:

    • Trans-loading fuel; refueling vehicles from tankers; maintaining the refueling point.
    • Performing safety checks and repairing the vehicle as needed.
    • Maintaining safe driving, while complying with safety procedures and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations and agency rules, standards and guidelines.
    • Accurately maintaining records and logs of the fuel dispensed and received.
    • Providing superior customer service to all customers, and performing other duties as assigned.

  • The Kitchen Aide substitute will be responsible for helping with food preparation, loading and unloading transported food to and from the High School, as well as serving lunch each day.

    Duties will include cleanup of food and tables, returning food and equipment to the central kitchen, washing the pans and dishes as needed, and folding and putting away the lunch tables from Valley School’s lunch service. Other related duties will be required as assigned.
