Family Engagement Guidance

Be Active in Your Child's Education!

You can help in the success of your child by becoming an active participant in your student’s education:

  • Communicate: Stay informed and respond promptly to all communications from the school or the school district.
  • Be an example: Show your child that education is important by reading, attending parent/teacher conferences, and attending school Open House events.
  • Volunteer: Volunteer at your child’s school and help with extra-curricular activities. Participate and support parent involvement activities at school.
  • Learn: Ask how to help your child with classwork, homework, and future education plans.
  • Collaborate with the community: By participating in parent activities with other families, using local county resources such as libraries, you can increase skills and talents to obtain needed services for your child.
  • Get involved: Attend school/parent activities; provide positive feedback for school improvement; join Title I, Part A parent advisory workgroups, and other parent committees when available.

Valley School District invites you to participate in
the Parent & Family Engagement Survey.

Our school system is working to strengthen partnerships between schools and families to help children perform better in school.  To continue these efforts, we need to collect information regarding the involvement of parents in the schools their children attend.  The purpose of this survey is to get your opinion on how well schools have met your families' and children’s needs and how you feel about the school's parental involvement activities.  There are no right or wrong answers.  We are only interested in your opinion.  The findings of the survey will be summarized and used to make improvements. We appreciate your participation – thank you!
