The Valley School District recognizes the important connection between a healthy diet and a student's ability to learn effectively and achieve success in school. We make every effort to serve quality meals and show students that we care. Our district is committed to providing all students with all the tools they need to succeed – this includes nutritious meals that everyone can enjoy together.

Valley School District participates in a federal program, the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which is a part of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs. CEP allows all students to receive breakfast and lunch at no charge throughout the school year, regardless of family or household income. No-cost school meals are a great benefit to students, as a hungry child has difficulty learning.

We encourage all families to submit a Family Income Survey (FIS) to the school office. The information collected in the survey supports funding streams for educational programs that rely on income data. Every FIS form that is not submitted means lost resources for our schools.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can also be obtained online from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.
