Only essential staff were on campus today making plans for the extended closure. Our priorities remain the same: Stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep health/safety first, provide food service, provide childcare for medical personnel and first responders, and provide extended learning opportunities. Updates for today:
Today, we served meals in the Valley Bus Loop from 9:00-11:00 am. The turnout was positive and we are expanding to serve meals in the Valley Grange as well tomorrow. Tomorrow, both sites, the Valley School Bus Loop and the Valley Grange will be serving breakfast/lunch meals from 9:00-11:00 am.
We are compiling the meal service phone call survey data from yesterday and today to best inform our next steps and our goal is to expand the meal service program. We will be exploring what the next steps will look like in our District Leadership Team meeting tomorrow morning.
If you are a family who needs a meal service for school-age children, and did not get called in the phone survey, please call us at 509-937-2791 for support.
We are getting guidance from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and continue to adapt to these uncharted waters. Our Leadership Team goal is to provide services that best fit the needs of the Valley School District Community while being viable and sustainable in this ever changing situation. Thank you for your patience and compassion as we move forward and know that we are doing our best to serve you. Take care, be safe, and be sure to wash your hands often!
