March 11, 2021 Message From Superintendent Ben Ferney
Dear Valley School Staff and Families,
We have an opportunity to partner with the Health Commons Project, a company partnering with school districts to offer voluntary COVID-19 testing in Valley School District. Through the Health Commons Project, we will be working with Curative, a company that provides results to molecular COVID-19 tests.
The PRC test enables symptomatic students and staff to be tested quickly on site with results typically coming back in 24-72 hours. This quick turnaround could reduce the amount of time students/staff are out of the building.
Because this COVID-19 test is voluntary and optional, students will not be tested without parent/guardian approval.
For this voluntary test, the individual being tested does a mouth swab under the direction and assistance of a trained staff observer.
Students and staff must be able to complete daily attestations to be onsite; sick or symptomatic students or staff should stay home.
Valley School District is not a testing or community collection site.
We hope to begin offering tests during the week of March 22nd. Thank you for your continued support and following pandemic safety protocols as they help us stay open for in-person instruction.
